What can a Patient Expect when having the Veneer
After a thorough exam of your teeth, gums and supporting bone structure, our Dentist will discuss treatment options with you and answer your questions.
Receiving veneers usually requires two visits to complete the process. The teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer
On the second visit the teeth will be cleansed with special liquids to achieve a durable bond. Bonding cement is then placed between each tooth and veneer and a special light is used to harden and set the bond.
If the agreed upon treatment is a dental veneer, our Dentist will:
- Apply a local anesthetic to the affected area of your mouth
- Remove a small amount of enamel from the front of your tooth to make place for the veneer
- Use 3-D imaging to design and create your veneer
- Clean and polish the tooth’s front surface
- Bond the veneer in place to permanently affix it
- Expose the veneer to special hand-held light to harden the repaired surface of your tooth
After your visit you will receive care instructions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your beautiful veneers.
